More Snow and a Sleepover...

Today is Saturday, it started snowing yesterday around 9:00 a.m. and snowed steadily until I went to bed last night at 10:00 p.m. and we ended up with about 10 inches of snow.

So, yesterday I took the day off of work because I have all my vacation time again (I ran out last year) and I didn't want to deal with a commute. Also, I had a date for a sleepover with my niece’s children, Devin 8, Kyle 5 and Gabrielle 1...we are day two into the sleepover.

Yesterday, we went to the market to get some stuff and a woman say me and said "You must be brave" because I had these three wonderful children. Well, don't you know that the 8 and 5 year old needed to have EVERYTHING that they saw at the supermarket and the 1 year old kept tossing her pacifier...mind you her mom only packed one and she can't go to sleep without it.

I thought that I was Super Auntie yesterday, we made it all the way through check out with only a couple of "Must Haves" for the boys and we had a Binky that didn't get lost.

Well, between getting out to the car and making sure that the boys didn't get hit by cars that didn't clean the snow off the windows and the plow trucks cleaning the parking lot, we made it to the car in one piece.

I then proceeded to load the groceries into the car and realized that somewhere between the checkout counter and my car we lost the Binky...the horror of it hit me when I called my niece and she said that Gabrielle would not sleep without the exact same Binky...I went to Walgreens, CVS and back to Shaws and couldn't find this particular brand of Binky. I grabbed a brand at Shaws and prayed for the best. Thank goodness it worked!! She took it without complaint.

My hat goes off to all the Mothers out there...It is almost 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, I still have not taken a shower, I've been up since 4:30 a.m. (my mistake, Gabrielle lost her Binky and instead of finding it and giving it to her I picked her up--it's all over after you pick her up!) I made the boys breakfast at 7:00 a.m. took Gabrielle up for a nap at 9:00 a.m. (we both napped and the boys were thrilled that they could play Xbox while we napped) woke up at 11:00 a.m. and played for an hour. Then I made lunch, got the boys dressed to go out and "shovel" they are getting paid by Uncle Michael (and they did a great job for an 8 & 5 year old--Uncle Michael is going to have to fix it when he comes home) I tried to get Gabrielle down for her second nap at 2:00 p.m., she just layed there and stuck her fingers in my mouth and occasionally slapping my face (I figured if it would help her sleep...that's ok)so I brought her downstairs and she is in the process of using her brothers as jungle gyms.

WOW!! I still need to get them ready to go out to dinner and my house is a total mess!! Between food on the sofa, on the floor, dishes everywhere and never mind the laundry!!

I told Michael that if this is what it's going be like when Alison comes home I'm in big trouble...talk about a reality slap...I'm getting one this weekend. Although today I have 3 and when Alison comes home I'll only have one.

It really has been a great weekend so for and I wouldn't change a thing.
