Oh...the Shame...
I didn't last a day!! Just checked e-mails and had two looks at the RQ site to see if referrals were sent and three peaks at the CCAA site to see if they updated the dates that have been reviewed--nothing yet. It's looking like maybe after Labor Day people will start getting those referrals and hopefully that will bring us up to December 2005. I'll have to wait and see---a speed up once we hit December is possible!! Keep those fingers crossed.

I Think I Need An Intervention!!
I think that I'm in serious need of an intervention!!
I belong to a few on line groups with Yahoo for my January DTC and my February LID and I just signed up for the Rumor Queens Forums. That's three sources of information and support.
We are only six months into a wait that could possibly stretch beyond two years and it's like I'm a hungry person looking for ANYTHING to chew on!!
I'm taking a break--hopefully it will last and I will not be going back to any of the sites for the entire week...
I'll keep you posted how I do...wish me luck!

I'm so confused...and Sorry February Secret Buddy
Hi Secret Buddy from my FEB DTC Group.
I want to thank you so much for ALL the wonderful gifts that you sent us!! I thought that it was funny that both my buddies were sending bath time stuff.
The first package had a personalized note but it wasn't signed and the second package arrived it had a personal note with a Feb DTC signature...sorry for the confusion!!
I thought it would be OK to participate in two swaps because I really like to shop and buy different things...I'm sorry for the confusion!!

Oh Brother...LOL
Those of you who know me, you know that I have a very large family and all of the male members of this family are HUGE Pat's fan (New England Patriots).
I've been posting squished that I have received from family and friends on this blog and my brother Scott was SO NOT HAPPY that my brother in law Rick beat him to the squish (so to speak) and they both ended up giving me a Red Pats square of fabric.
This really bugged Scott...so today he came over to give me a "Better" squish than the one that Rick gave us...yes...to funny...
So Uncle Scott...here is the "Better" Pat's Squish...THANKS SO MUCH you big goof ball!!

As most of you know I have signed up for the secret buddy swap with my January DTC Yahoo group and it's been a lot of fun to send and receive presents each month.
Well, I belong to two DTC Yahoo groups and I also signed up for a second Secret Buddy swap with my February DTC Yahoo group. In the January group we send presents each month and in the February group we send presents every other month.
Here is the present that we received from our February DTC Yahoo group:
These are squirty bath toys:
This is my very first "I Love Mommy" ANYTHING-it is a hooded bath towel--I can't stop smiling every time I look at it and because it's my first it is oh so special:
This is also a bath towel and it fits perfectly with the theme of our nursery, I love the butterflies and flowers--this also has the colors that we have in the room--it's just perfect:
I want to thank you for ALL these GREAT GIFTS!! You have put a lot of thought into your gift- thank you so much.
I can't wait to find out who you are!!
Thanks again!

Congratulatoins to K & G...
Congratulations to our good friends K & G.
I was told that they have found a Surrogate and now they can proceed with their plans to start a family. I'm so happy for both of them. They may just get their little bundle of joy before we do--but that's okay, we can't wait to meet both babies whenever they may get here (theirs and ours).
Woo Hoo!! There just seems to be good things happening to good people lately...I like that!

It's Party Time!!
After Niagara Falls we drove 1 1/2 hours back to Rochester and met up with my Sister Cindy and her Husband Rick and their son Alexander. It was getting late--after 9:00 p.m. and Alex was kind of tired--we were at UNO's Pizzeria and I think that Alex was partying a little to much--he passed out at the table--he didn't even finish his Margarita!!
I'M KIDDING--OF COURSE WE DIDN'T LET HIM DRINK!
The following day we had Heathers wedding and unfortunatly, I don't have any good pictures from the wedding--Here is one of Heather and her new husband Eric:
I loved how she had the pink in her dress--it was so pretty! The tables were very tight and it was tough getting pictures.
The entire wedding party (including the bride) wore sneakers--all different kinds and colors--it was a very fun crowd. At the reception, we had all of Heathers favorite foods, Pasta, Pizza, Chicken Wings and Fried Doe.
It was nice to see Uncle Bob and Aunt Donna (parents of the bride). I hope Heather and Eric have a very happy life together--they are a cute couple.

Niagara Falls
My cousin Heather got married this weekend in Rochester NY so we decided to go early and go to Niagara Falls for the day and go into Canada.
What a great trip!! Here are some pictures--it was so amazing to see up close!! I can't pick just one!!
Can you see the "Maid of the Mist" boat in these pictures? We took the boat ride--truly amazing--that's the only word that I can use to describe it!! Here are a couple of pictures from on the boat--Michael looks like Papa Smurf and here is Scott and Ann Marie:
We could not have asked for better weather. I know that it looks cloudy in some of the pictures but that lasted only for the boat ride and was gone--if it rained we couldn't tell because of the mist from the falls. We walked across the boarder to Canada and I never truly understood why everyone always said that the Canadian side of the falls was better then the American side---now I get it!! I thought it was because the American side is dirty--but it's not! It's because you have a better view of the falls from the Canadian Side.
Here are a couple of pictures from the Canadian side--can you guess which one I am?? And the other picture is a garden area right when you come through customs.
I would highly recommend that if you can make it to Niagara Falls that you go.

Two more dolls
Here are the other two dolls that I mentioned earlier...aren't they beautiful!!
This first doll is a very large porcelain cabbage patch doll from Aunt Helen--she is Chinese and will go in our special cabinet.
Here is the second doll that I got from my mother, she is the sister doll of Chan that Aunt Helen gave us--so pretty.
I called the unfinished furniture store looking for a corner cabinet that is all glass to put in the nursery, I have to go down and special order it and they will finish it for me to match the wall color of the room. It's going to look awesome!
Thanks Aunt Helen for the ideas and the dolls--they mean so much!! Thanks Mom (Nana) for this beautiful little girl!!

100 Godd Wish Quilt
Well I've received 57 squares to date for our 100 Good Wish Quilt.
I sent out three different fabrics to my yahoo groups for the quilt swaps and saved a square of each fabric for my quilt and I want to get two of Michaels tee shirts with his company logos...I will need to add a backing to that material so that it will last as long as the other squares. I'm also planning on picking a couple of pieces from Lucy and Cosmo, me and Michael to be added with wishes.
I'm getting some from my co-workers on Monday...thanks Kate, Sheron and Melinda!
Cindy has six squishes that she keeps forgetting to give me they are from Cindy & Rick, Samantha, Eric, Alex, Pickles and Princess--they all picked out their own fabric for our girl!
Lisa gave her squish to Nicole and I haven't received it yet...I hope Nicole didn't lose it like she lost hers.
Nicole needs to find the one she lost or get me another one pronto.
Scott said that he was sending me NE Patriots material with a wish...we are waiting on this.
Brian and his family, I haven't heard a peep from them so I don't think that anything will be received from them. :o(
Paul's wife asked my sister if all their kids could send one but I haven't heard anything from them. :o(
Mom keeps forgetting, but I'm going to get on her. Aunt Helen is coming home with her and she will make sure that we get a squish from Nana and Gumpy!!
So between all the e-mail reminders and letter that we sent I think this is it...thank goodness for the yahoo groups!! I wouldn't have much of a quilt with out your squishes.
I'm very surprise by the number of squished that I'm NOT getting. I guess that I just get caught in my own little world and I think that everyone else is going to want to participate in my things and that just isn't the case...we all have are own things that are going on that are special to each of us...so I completely understand.
So this brings me up to approximately 73 squares. Nana has extra material that I can use, but I really wanted 100 pieces from different people...but, what can you do.
I'm now starting to look into quilting lessons...this might be something that I can do for our daughter instead of sending it out...I'm going to a quilt shop that I found in Beverly next week to take a look around...it would be great if I could make it myself for her and make it that much more special.
If the quilting classes work out, I may even try my hand at other things...but, one step at a time. I need to make sure this is going to work for me or if I'm going to get too aggravated with it and then I'll have to send it out.
I'll keep you posted.
THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR GOOD WISHES AND SQUARES...THIS QUILT IS SO FULL OF LOVE AND IT'S GOING TO LOOK GREAT!!

Where does all the time go...
I've been back from vacation since Saturday and I just can't seem to find the time to get ANYTHING done around my house!!
The good news first--Cosmo is 100% better. She seems to be back to her normal self and following me around like a little puppy dog just wanting to sit on my lap. She did get sick last night - ON MY BED AT 4:30 a.m.!! But looked okay when I put down breakfast.
My gardens are SO OVER GROWN!!!! We had so much rain and humidity when I was gone and I haven't had an opportunity to get out in the gardens since I've been back that my tomatoes are disappearing in the weeds. I'll be going out after work tonight to hopefully untangle them and pull lots of weeds and it's a hot one today 90+ with humidity. I didn’t think that they would make it when I transplanted Mama Dollo's plant--but they look good. We have 28 tomato plants so hopefully I'll get a lot canned for the winter and some nice homemade gravy.
The real gross news:
When I was out in CA with mom, Michael shipped us live lobsters and steamers to surprise my aunt who is originally from New England, but transplanted to CA when she got married 50 years ago. She LOVES steamers!
FedEx is the only company that will ship live things. We have used them many times in the past for this same purpose and everything has been fine.
We were supposed to get our surprise package on Friday. Now mind you we were in the high desert and at 2:00 p.m. (which gets very hot that time of day) we had no delivery. So I called to track the package. I was told that we would not get our package until Saturday and that we could put in a claim. I asked that they cancel the delivery, because the lobsters and steamers would be dead on Saturday and they would be no good to us a day late.
I flew home on Saturday morning and mom asked that I called her when I got in (she is still in CA). They received a special delivery of DEAD seafood on Saturday. There was no knock on the door; no ring of the bell...the package was just left by the front door. My cousin found the package around 3:00 p.m. I can't even imagine what this must have smelled like and they didn't have a trash pickup until MONDAY!
I felt so bad for the lobsters and steamers!! What a way to go!!! At least if they are put in steaming water they die fairly quickly, but to just die of heat exposure!!! OMG!!
I told Aunt Helen that I would have to make it up to her when she comes home with mom next week...I just hope that she can eat them after all this!!
