I-797C...

This is the form that says that you can adopt a child and you have been approved to bring that child to the United Sates. We received our renewed I-797C back in April with a BIG change...our renewal petition had a stamp that said that our petition has been "Amended" and we are approved for one (1) child! Our initial petition was issued for approval with two (2) children (we requested twins if they become available).

Needless to say, I called our agency before I even got out of my car with the mail to let them know that there was some sort of mistake...we needed to get our approval for two children corrected and I started to panic...why did they change our approval, was there something wrong, did they change their mind...it's crazy all the things that run though your mind when you have so many uncontrolable factors that are basically in charge of your life and your family and there is (almost) nothing you can do about it!

We got our new amended (again) I-797C showing that we are approved to receive two children...thank goodness!

Now we just need a referral and we are good to go...I wonder home many more renewal's we will have to get before we get that referral?

Memorial Day...

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

I started my long weekend by sleeping in until 8:30 a.m. - What a beautiful way to start the day! We are going to have a beautiful three days weather wise...today (Saturday) it's supposed to be in the mid 70's and tomorrow and Monday it's going to get up to the low 80's. I love this weather...not to hot and not cold.

Since I'm starting to get my groove back, today is a spring cleaning kind of day. Michael is out cleaning out the garage and hopefully throwing a lot of stuff away then he is going to seal coat the driveway...oh yeah, he also has two helpers to help him with his jobs today. I'm hoping I can get him to clean the awning today too!

Me on the other hand, I'm hitting every corner of my house and by the time I'm done this place is going to sparkle!

We are planning a big BBQ tomorrow...Happy Memorial Day Everyone!

And so we wait...

...it's just over 15 months since we had our dossier logged in with China for our little Alison.

So...what's been happening lately? Nothing much...just working and waiting. The good news is that work is real busy and now I'm helping out Michael with one of the businesses on weekends...it certainly makes time go by and being busy doesn't allow you much time to dwell on things.

I have been in a little bit of a funk lately and haven't had much motivation to do anything...but that is starting to go away.

On the positive side, we started some work in the nursery, or I should say that my dad started work in the nursery. We finally painted the walls...dad was here for a weekend putting a skim coat on the walls and then he painted the ceiling and walls.

I got a picture of him after the skim coat...he looks like a snowman! It's so special to have Gumpy put together Alison's room.

Happy Mothers Day

Today is Mothers Day and some day I will be able to celebrate this day...but not today. Today is a day to celebrate my mother and Michael's mother and grandmother.

I know that some people like to celebrate mothers day as they are awaiting to receive word of their child, but I don't, because I'm not yet a mother.

It may be hard for some people to understand, but that is how I feel, good or bad.

I'm not a mother so I don't feel the need to celebrate this day until my child comes home and then it will be a mother/daughter day to truly celebrate.

Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers who currently have their children or to the mothers who are awaiting their child that would like to start the celebrations early. I just choose to wait before I start this type of celebration.

Prom

Friday Night was my nieces Junior Prom...this little girl is like a daughter to me. Samantha is my younger sisters daughter and very special to her Auntie (oops, let me clarify that all my kids are all very special to Auntie).

I'm a Great Auntie 9x's (no I'm not that old...just have a very large family). Seeing Samantha all grown up is starting to make me feel a little bit old...she will be going off to college in two more years, I'm so proud of you girlie!

You looked absolutely beautiful for Prom...thanks for sharing it with your old aunt!

This is a test

I'm attempting to add a smilebox slide show to my blog...let's see how I do.
